Literary Revolution - Sandra Rosas

Sweet liberty, a fragile bird,

Caged and without a tongue.

Resilient voices continuously attempt

to overcome unreasonable censorship;

ink-stained hands fight to honor

the silenced, and let their truth traverse

among the states, among the world.

Those who actively search for a clue—

journalists, poets, writers—publish

The country’s truths

Despite criticism of their so-called ‘rubbish.’

In realms of thought, ideas bloom.

Words possess the power to ignite,

And the senator fears their sparks of light

That will target his ceaseless lies very soon.
